Changing Life Through Horses

Horses have a remarkable role to play in developing character and key life skills in young people, regardless of whether more traditional methods have been successful

Changing Lives Through Horses is a British Horse Society program that helps young people between the ages of 5-25 reconnect with society and develop essential life skills. The program is suitable for those who may be disengaged or excluded from mainstream school, at risk of social exclusion, experiencing challenges including special educational needs or trauma, or those not currently in employment or training.

The program is designed around the six main life skills; Perseverance, Communication, Building Relationships, Teamwork, Confidence and Responsibility. Each participant is worked with on an individual basis, in line with their particular needs. There is opportunity to obtain a recognised qualification upon successful completion of the course.
